Apparel Designer - Denver Athletic
Aug. 2022 - Present

At Denver Athletic Supply, the design team is responsible for all production files across Screen Print, Embroidery and Heat-Set departments. Our company's connections with collegiate and professional teams across Colorado presented us with unique opportunities to feature our work on the national stage. In addition to the majority of High Schools all across Colorado, I have done uniforms & apparel for The Denver Broncos, Nuggets, Colorado Mammoth, and colleges such as the Colorado School of Mines & University of Denver Hockey

Feb. 2020 - Aug. 2022
Product Designer - Reusch

I was hired in February of 2020 at Continental Sports Supply Inc, a distributor and manufacturer for Reusch Goalkeeping and Ski gloves. As the lead designer, I was in charge of all design, overseeing in-house manufacturing, marketing and print production. As a small company competing with large corporations, taking on responsibilities beyond the scope of your job is commonplace - but being able to take your idea from the drawing board to the computer to the print and press to sewing to distribution to the shelves of top sporting goods companies makes it all worth it. In Fall of 2022, Dick's Sporting goods picked up a GK jersey of my design for their 2022 line of Reusch products.

Capstone ID project: "GROOVE" digital music-production interface

Fall 2016

"Groove" is the complete music production platform for the digital age. Most notably, this interface features a whole new way to read, write, learn, play, and most importantly, create music. "Groove" is designed to be an immersive and intuitive user experience - reinforcing the learning process by displaying an accurate visual depiction of any musical composition.

Adidas Futures: Tokyo 2020 Olympics (design intern group project)
Summer 2016

Summer 2016: adidas futures assigned myself and two other design interns to collaborate on innovation opportunities surrounding the 2020 Summer games in Tokyo. Our team decided to take a stab at one of the lesser-known olympic sports: fencing. Without this unique opportunity to apply my creative skills to an otherwise niche sport, I doubt I ever would have wielded a sabre or yelled "en garde!" with a literal connotation.

AFFILIATE BRANDING WORK:

Fall 2015
Junior ID Housewares project: Autonomous Robotic Lawnmower

Inspired by the blood, sweat, and tears that are shed mowing the lawn on a hot summer's day, "Grazer" is an automated robotic system that continuously cuts the grass and mulches your pasture. They say, "time is money" and time-saving robots like this may soon be the smartest lawn-care investment a homeowner can make."Grazer" truly lives up to its name-increasing the average amount of time spent caring for a normal-sized lawn by over 1,600% ...resulting in a pristine, carpet-like appearance - even during the Fall!

Sophomore ID Footwear Project

This is a personal side-project completed during my sophomore year, for skill-development purposes. The aim of this project was to strengthen the integrity of each franchise's visual brand identity. This meant applying everything I knew about the culture & history surrounding the teams, their city, and their fan-base, to the appearance of the team's uniforms and aesthetic of their brand. Behance project features all 32 teams. Click logo to view.
Keep in mind this project was completed in 2015 - before Nike's "color-rush" uniforms were worn, and before the St. Louis Rams or San Diego Chargers moved to Los Angeles.

Sophomore ID Branding project: Gatorade X Skateboard design

For this assignment I chose to apply the brand identity of Gatorade to a skateboard design that was easy to transport, maintain, and felt comfortable for riders of all ages and skill levels. This resulted in the Skatorade board. After finalizing my design, I created a 3D model of the board using Solidworks CAD program, and renderings of the final design using Keyshot and Photoshop. The final displayboard was created using Adobe Illustrator.

Sophomore ID Streamline project: Plug-in Insect Exterminator

Sophomore Industrial Design project: Streamlined product design. For this project, I decided to create an electric insect-exterminator. My research led to fascinating conversations with masters students specializing in insect vision, and pheromone communication. A simple ultraviolet-mood light attracts insects with the help of a pheromone-emitting attachment at the bottom of the device. This would be sold separately, along with a micro-chip that informs the BugBolt what the wings of that particular insect will sound like within the shock cavity. When its microphone activates, the BugBolt sends 120 volts of electricity from the outlet to the shock cavity-using the insect to complete the circuit.

The new brand of BCL is designed to communicate the company's' purpose of providing a convenient place for restaurant owners & professional chefs to order & auction-off new and used restaurant equipment. This company also ships product to and from customers. So to capture the attention of a tenured chef or restaurant owner, I chose to center the design around the spatula-a preferred tool of the trade. Being positioned in the negative space allows this logo to emphasize the spatula without sacrificing the readability of the text, and making possible the hidden arrow element - subtly communicating the shipping / trade services that BCL offers.
Fall 2013
This was my first product designed using Adobe Illustrator. My old friend and magician, Derek McKee approached me about designing a deck of playing cards, and expressed his interest in paying tribute to the first science-fiction film ever produced - a 1902 silent film by icon Georges Méliès entitled "Le Voyage dans la Lune" (A Trip to the Moon). This project was successfully funded on Kickstarter, and produced by The U.S. Playing Card Company in 2013.
